John Davidson, former NHL goaltender and current New York Ranger hockey analyst on the Madison Square Gardens network since the mid 1980s, talks with our guests as one of our hosts on Inside the NHL. Following a distinguished playing career, John entered the world of broadcasting and quickly developed a work ethic and enthusiastic style that put him among the elite broadcasters in the industry. For two years John was the analyst for the highly acclaimed Hockey Night in Canada. For the last 4 years, John has worked on Hockey in Canadas popular After 40 Minutes segment Hot Stove by Satellite which airs Saturday evenings in Canada. From 1993 to 1996 he served as NBCs analyst for the NHL All-Stars Game, worked for CBS as lead analyst for hockey coverage in the 1992, 1994, and 1998 Winter Olympics, and contributed to ABCs coverage of the NHL in 1994. Since 1995 he has worked on the All-Star Games, Stanley Cup Playoffs and Finals for FOX. In April of 1995 John was named winner of the New York Emmy Award for "Outstanding On-Camera Achievement" and in December of 1994 he was an integral part of Madison Square Garden Ranger broadcast that was named the winner of the Cable ACE Award for "Outstanding Live Event Coverage". |
Jeff Rimer, the television voice of the Florida Panthers, also joins us to host Inside the NHL. He is currently in his sixth season with the club and third season as host of "Panthers Weekly" on SportsChannel Florida. This Toronto native previously served as the Washington Capitals play-by-play voice for WDCA-TV as well as the host of Home Team Sports "Capital Report". For eight years he was sports director at WBAL Radio in Baltimore and hosted the Orioles pre- and post-game reports. Prior to his stop in Baltimore, Jeff spent seven and one half years as sports director of CFCF in Montreal. He began his career at CFAC Radio in Calgary and was the voice of the Calgary Centennials in the Western Hockey League. He then spent four and one-half years at CBC in Edmonton. |
