Philanthropy

Since Five Star's inception in 1992 the company has made a commitment to "give back" to the community that has supported it and been instrumental in its success. Hundreds of thousands of dollars have been raised and donated by Five Star to a constellation of worthy causes. From literally creating the "Call-A-Cop" program, to raising money for children with autism, and supporting the Heat, Panthers and Dolphins charity organizations; when you see people working for a worthy cause, you are going to see Five Star leading the way.

Five Star Teams with Adopt-A-Minefield and Heather Mills McCartney

In summer of 2005, Five Star approached Adopt-A-Minefield (AAM) in an effort to help with their work in global landmine eradication. After it was approved by AAM's most visible patron, Heather Mills McCartney, the partnership has grown to encompass several areas.

Five Star produced a video for AAM's Night of 1,000 Dinners, where volunteers hold dinners on one evening in their homes to raise money. Our donation also included graphic design of the box and disc covers, followed by duplicating some 1,300 DVD's and many VHS tapes, which were mailed out around the world.

In addition, Five Star re-edited this video into an 8-minute version for AAM's annual gala in Los Angeles in November. This prestigious, star-studded event is hosted by Jay Leno and is AAM's biggest fund-raiser every year.

As a result of their outreach to AAM, Five Star will also now manage and maintain Adopt-A-Minefield's growing library of footage.

AAM is a campaign of the United Nations Association of the USA , which engages individuals, community groups, and businesses in the United Nations effort to resolve the global landmine crisis. The Campaign helps save lives by raising funds for mine clearance and survivor assistance and by raising awareness about the landmine problem.

There are between 45 and 50 million landmines in the ground in one-third of the world's nations.  Landmines are indiscriminate weapons that maim or kill 15,000 to 20,000 civilians every year. Five Star is proud to play a part in Adopt-A-Minefield's exceptional work for humanity.

Fifth Annual Bubbles & Bones Gala

In October, Five Star continued its tradition of giving back to the community by contributing its production, editing, music and creative services in the creation of the video presentation for the Fifth Annual “Bubbles & Bones Gala”. Bubbles & Bones is the key fundraiser for Here's Help, Inc., a private, non-profit, comprehensive rehabilitation agency that offers alternatives to drug and alcohol abuse, dependency and addiction. The mastermind of Here's Help is "Footy" (John Kross) of South Florida 's Y-100.7. Footy and Here's Help have been helping those in need for the past 30 years. This year's video featured their enhanced dental facilities and a new tattoo removal program. Tattoo removal enables young adults to erase years of gang tattoos making them employable.

These programs are part of Here's Help's very successful alternative therapy approach to rehabilitation. Five Star weighs in to make sure the presentation at the Auction and Gala achieves its ultimate goal of inspiring members of the community to contribute and support these important efforts.
